There’s a new deadline to file for your ANCHOR property tax benefit

Homeowners and renters who are eligible for the ANCHOR property tax break will have an extra week to apply, the state said Wednesday.
The Treasury Department is moving the deadline to Dec. 6 from Nov. 30 to give taxpayers extra time to file after the Thanksgiving holiday, which is Nov. 28 this year.
“With the busy holiday season upon us, we’ve extended the ANCHOR season to ensure all qualifying New Jerseyans are able to apply for this significant property tax relief,” State Treasurer Elizabeth Maher Muoio said in a statement. “We encourage homeowners and renters across New Jersey to check their eligibility and apply so that those who qualify do not miss out on this important benefit.”
